SPECIFICATIONS
Open to Junior or Amateur Adult riders mounted on
horses. The same horse/ rider combination may not cross
enter into any class where the fences exceed 3'3"
(Equitation excepted). The rider may compete on a different horse in any other division for which the
rider/ horse are eligible. The horse may be shown by another exhibitor in any division for which eligible,
except Junior or Amateur-Owner Hunter. Fences 3'
PRE-GREEN
WORKING HUNTER
Open to horses or ponies that have not shown over fences
in a recognized show prior to previous calendar year. Horses eligible for 2nd year are not eligible for
Pre-Green. Cross entry not permitted between 3 and
33 sections. Sections will be combined if less than
(6) entries per section.
LIMIT
RIDER OVER - Fences 2'6"
Open to any rider who has not won six (6) blue ribbons
over fences (equitation included) at a THJA/ USEF
affiliate recognized show. Riders eligible at the

CHILDREN / ADULT SERIES
(In
order for points to count, each horse must be registered
with Southwest Association)
Eligibility: Children
Hunter/ Jumpers are to be ridden by Junior exhibitors
eligible to ride in the Children division. Adult Hunter/
Jumpers are to be ridden by Adult Amateurs who are no
longer eligible to compete
as Jr. exhibitors.
Restrictions:
To be eligible to compete in a Southwest Children and/
or Adult Jumper Classic the same horse and rider
combination must be entered in at least one Children or
Adult Jumper class at the associated show. To be
eligible to compete in a Southwest Children and/ or
Adult Hunter Classic the same horse and rider
combination must be entered in at least one Children or
Adult Hunter class at the associated show. Min (8)
entries in the Children/Adult Hunter & Jumper Classics.
SOUTHWEST CHILDREN/ ADULT JUMPER
CLASSIC
This class will be run at Level 3 and under USEF Table
II, 2(a), Time First Jump-Off. Course will consist of
approximately 10-12 obstacles with the first round fence
heights not to exceed 3'6" with spreads to 4'. The first round and first jump-off, if any, is decided by
adding together the faults incurred over the course and
any penalties for exceeding the time allowed. In the
event of equality of faults after the first round there
will be a jump off for first place only in which time
will decide, in the event of equality of faults.
SOUTHWEST CHILDREN/ ADULT HUNTER
CLASSIC
To be judged on performance, soundness,
suitability and manners. To be scored under the open
numerical judging system using two judges (where
available). Courses will consist of approximately 10
fences, not to exceed 3 in height with spreads to 3.
Each competitor will jump one round of approximately 10
fences. The twelve horses with the highest score from
the first round will return to jump a second round over
a different course. Each of the two rounds counts fifty
percent. In the event of equality affecting the
selection of the top twelve, all those equal will
qualify. The scores of the twelve horses in the second
round will be added to the first round scores and placed
in order of their total score for the two rounds.
Horses tied for first place only will jump a third round
over a shortened course. Ties for all other places will
remain tied.
Jumper
Divisions
There is a $100.00 nominating fee for entering any
classes in the Level 5, Level 6 and Junior/Amateur-Owner
Jumper Sections. Time allowed is based on a minimum
speed of 382 yard per minute. No poling or offsets
allowed at any time. CHILDRENS & ADULT JUMPERS WILL
BE COMBINED IF LESS THAN EIGHT IN EITHER SECTION.
